Since the Republicans lost a Senate seat in President Biden’s midterms (four years after Democrats lost two seats in Trump’s midterms), the words “Candidate Quality” have been making the rounds. Those two words are largely said by the non-Trump and the pro-Establishment wing of the Republican Party in a chiding way to Trump voters as to why the president’s party has 51 Senate seats four years after Trump’s party had 53 seats.
Spot on! The Republican Party, quality candidates or not, play as political amateurs in the arena by always being ten steps behind the democrats. They fail in messaging. They fail in rallying behind the primary winners. They fail at every step! The republicans make it very hard for us working stiffs to support them.
What is happening is that the ossified establishment good 'ol boys are refusing to welcome America First Candidates. Instead of helping them win, they have employed all sorts of sabotage to help them lose. The pre-Trump Republicans were dying an overdue natural death, until Trump revitalized the base. Instead of being grateful that they could be winners again, they chose to throw in with the Democrats against their own Party.
It speaks volumes of corruption that the establishment feels it's more in their interest to crush Trump & his base, than to win.
Mitch McConnell & Kevin McCarthy will be the death of the Republican Party, but that's ok. We can form a new party. We'll see if they keep any of their promises come January.
